A manometer is a pressure measuring device that uses a U-shaped glass tube filled with a liquid, in this case water, to measure small differences in pressure. It measures pressure differences by balancing the weight of a fluid column between the two pressures of interest. This instrument has a 6 inch, or 15 cm, fluid column and a wood sliding scale. It can be used to measure pressure difference in pitot or orifices located in the airflow in air handling or ventilation system. The instruments is supplied in a wooden box with a hinged lid.
