Railway thermometer
Mercury in glass thermometer engraved -20° to +50°C, set into an aluminium block milled out to enable temperature readings to be viewed. Critical temperatures are permanently marked. Supplied in wooden carrying case which acts as a sun shield so the thermometer picks up the rail temperature only.
