Barometers can be supplied with any two scales (mbar, mm Hg or in Hg). Please specify scales and range required when ordering. Always state the altitude at which they will be used (exports only).
* UKAS Calibration Certificates are available at extra cost. Please ask for quotation.
Transportation Precision mercurial barometers should always be carried flat or upside down. If a Fortin barometer is to be moved after installation, the following procedure must be followed:
- Turn the adjustment screw until the mercury fills the reservoir and the mercury in the column is about 25mm from the top of the scales.
- Remove the barometer from the wall, first incline or tilt gently and then place in a flat position.
- Adjust the screw further until a small air gap is left in the reservoir.
To rehang the barometer, reverse the above procedure.
